3D world and characters.

1. The abandoned hotel.

Concept:

The larger concept of my 3d world is that the previous tenants of this hotel now transformed into ghosts, protect their private property. As the viewer, you are perceived as an intruder, trespassing on their sacred space. Any attempt to explore/ pry into their past will lead to a deadly consequence represented by the murdered woman on the ground.

My goal was to design the building and its components to look realistic, as they would appear from the perspective of a game. Below is the link to Sketchfab, where I put my Blender model, edited it again and incorporated storytelling for the same.

2. Character design based on emotions.

Happy:

Happy:

I thought of all the things which make a character look happy. Since childhood depicts happiness better, I made a girl frolicking around. I used bright yellow for her frock. I explored the hair and bubble particles along with grease pencil.

Stress:

Stress:

This is a mixture of different emotions including sadness and anger. This character shows us the tired life of an overworked employee with overgrown hair who regularly smokes and drinks. I used unsymmetrical elements for the body to symbolise imbalance like those stacked rocks.

Angry:

For this emotion I used pointy elements and shades of red to show blazing sun sort of anger. The walk is more robotic, outward and purposeful. There are thorns on its arms and legs. I explored the head exploding animation as well.
